2024 Information

HARD ROCK HOTEL IN PUERTO VALLARTA, MEXICO

Each Fall, SOB starts a winter of Volleyball Vacations with a trip to the 5 star, Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta. We have over 23 PV weeks on our resume and this is our 16th year on the Hard Rock Beach.  Our Puerto Vallarta Volleyball Vacation includes: lodging, food, beverages, calls to USA/Canada, 24x7 room service, wireless, in room mini-bar, three private banquets, three tournaments (4's, 2's, Coed), pick-up play, clinics, drills, the Sunset Boat Cruise, a night on the town in PV, and an awesome SOB gift (Molten Volleyball and some other schwaag).  Players need to cover their own airfare and transfers.  This trip is capped at 48 men, and 48 women on the courts...plus family and friends.  Registration opens annually at noon, MST, on the second Tuesday in May.

Payment, Cancellation and Refund Policies

Travel Insurance:   We recommend purchasing travel insurance/protection through a 3rd party. We will be strictly adhering to the above Cancellation Policy. We will no longer transfer funds to a future SOB vacation.

Registration and Wait-List Policies:   The Registration Link is on the SOB Registration Page.  SOB Volleyball Vacations are filled on a first paid, first reserved basis. The time stamp on your registration places you in the que for either week or both.  Our Puerto Vallarta Trips accommodate 48 players per gender.  38 of these spots will be reserved for returning guests, and 10 of these spots will be filled with new guests creating a nice blend of guests.  Once the trip fills, players will be placed on a waitlist for any spots that may open due to cancellations.   After seven days, if spots are unfilled, they will be filled first come, first served of a combined waitlist.  (i.e. if you are a returning guest and did not get in, you may get a new guest spot if they are not all claimed).

Payment:   Registration opens annually on the second Tuesday in May.  Over the ensuing 21 days, players will be informed if they got in to the trip at which time payment (first $1,000) is due.  Payment plans are available, please call for details.

Pricing: All Prices are subject to change.

Inclusions:   All-inclusive SOB Puerto Vallarta Volleyball Vacations are priced to include: hotel, food, beverages, 3 tournaments, clinics with the pros, a sunset boat cruise and an SOB Gift or two.  

Airfare:   Airfare is not included.   Guests must secure their own airfare. 

Passports:   Passports are required for travel to Mexico. 

COVID-19:   SOB will rely on local government mandates at time of travel for all health related policies. In the past, we have required proof of vaccination or a negative covid test to attend trips. 

Transfers:  Airport Transfers are not included for Puerto Vallarta.  The cab ride the Hard Rock Hotel usually runs about $20-$35.

Additional Nights:  Players wishing to make it a longer trip can arrange for additional nights, however, please let us know before you secure airfare so we can confirm room availability. We have guests arrive early and stay late on most trips so there are usually games to be had. On our PV trip, many guests choose to mix it up and spend time before or after the trip in Downtown Puerto Vallarta where we recommend the Buena Ventura Hotel.  We also recommend the Occidental Hotel next door for a change of pace. 

Out of Package Options:  SOB Puerto Vallarta is a private, curated trip for a group of volleyball enthusiasts.  If you want to join our group, we encourage supporting our pros and staff by joining the trip with one of our packages above.  SOB occasionally has guests who have access to a time share, or have some other requirement that precludes them from joining the group in package.  Please contact us directly so we an discuss an out of package options and make sure you are included in the group.  We respectfully ask that players and fans don't just show up unannounced.

Play Volleyball Out of Package:    Volleyball Only Packages are available for Puerto Vallarta, however, participants must be staying at the Hard Rock Hotel.  Volleyball Only packages usually run in excess of $900 and get you included in everything. Please contact us at 303 745-2255. 

Join the Party Out of Package:   Guests that want to be included in the party but prefer to book outside of our package can do so for $350.  This will get you included in three private dinners, the Sunset Cruise, pick-up all week when available and some SOB Clothing.  It will not include tournament play or clinics.   We will donate $100 of your fee to our SOB Charities, and the other $250 will help us cover pros, staff and the sunset cruise.   Please call us directly at 303 745-2255. 

Alumni Packages:  Have you attended a bunch of our trips but reached a point where you want to hang with your friends, cheer on the players, but your game is long gone!   Please reach out, talk to us and let's see what we can do to keep you joining our groups into your twilight years.   In other words, if you can still cheer, heckle and tell volleyball stories at dinner, AARP discounts are on the table and we would love have you continue to join us!
